An organisation born from love, guided by service, and united by the timeless legacy of Shri Oommen Chandy — Kerala's people's Chief Minister.
The Oommen Chandy Memorial Charitable Trust was established in Panavila, Vizhinjam in loving memory of Shri Oommen Chandy — one of Kerala's most beloved Chief Ministers who dedicated five decades to public service with unmatched accessibility and warmth.
Known as the "People's Chief Minister," Shri Chandy personally attended to the grievances of ordinary citizens, travelling to remote villages and coastal communities to meet those in need. His philosophy was simple yet powerful: government must reach the last person.
This trust carries forward that philosophy — reaching families overlooked by mainstream welfare, educating those who cannot afford schooling, and empowering the communities of Vizhinjam and Kovalam that he served with such dedication.
Registered and operating from Panavila, Vizhinjam, we work across the coastal communities of Thiruvananthapuram, focusing on fishermen families, the elderly, and marginalised women and children.
